Enjoy a Viessmann guarantee of up to 10 years

Whether stainless steel radial heat exchangers, stainless steel cylinder or components in the Vitodens 100-W: Viessmann products are characterised by their outstanding quality, resource-preserving technology and maximum efficiency. Which is why we offer a guarantee of up to 5 years on boiler components and 10 years on radial heat exchanger (subject to terms and conditions below).

Basic information about the Viessmann warranty

We also offer a standard warranty of 2 years commencing on the date on which the boiler or accessory was delivered to you. With such guarantees we stand by our commitment to provide product owners and heating contractors with high quality products that work perfectly. Viessmann offers to repair or replace (at our sole discretion) faults free of charge. This is provided that these are actually due to defects in the manufacture or original materials of a product that occurs within the Standard Warranty Period. 

What is covered under the standard warranty

Where we repair a boiler or accessory under this warranty, subject to the Terms and Conditions:

  •  cost of the relevant repairs (including labour for repairs carried out by an agent or contractor engaged by Viessmann)
  • cost of the replacement boiler or accessory and the cost of installation (where required) in the same place as where the replaced boiler or accessory was installed

Where we replace a boiler or accessory under this warranty, subject to the Terms and Conditions:

  • cost of a new replacement boiler or accessory and cost of delivering that new replacement boiler or accessory to, at our sole discretion, either the supplier of that boiler or accessory or the location where the defective boiler or accessory was installed
  • Viessmann will arrange and pay for the new replacement boiler or accessory to be installed by Viessmann or an agent or contractor engaged by Viessmann in the same place as where the replaced boiler or accessory was installed
  • subject to Viessmann' s prior approval, we will cover reasonable costs (as determined by us) for that new replacement boiler or accessory to be installed by a qualified installer selected by you in the same place as where the replaced boiler or accessory was installed

Additional requirements for making a claim under the standard warranty

  • Professional design and installation of the system by a Viessmann qualified installer within 12 months of the date the product or accessory was delivered
  • product was installed, commissioned and maintained correctly in accordance with the appliance instructions
  • product has been used solely for the purposes it was designed for
  • the commissioning sheet and/or Viessmann service log book has been completed correctly and is available for inspection by Viessmann to verify its completeness and correctness
  • Installation, maintenance, inspection, servicing and guarantee work must be handled exclusively by a recognised heating contractor.
  • inspection and maintenance was done by a Viessmann installer or qualified installer within one year of the installation date and has continued to be serviced annually after each service date 
  • details of services performed on the relevant product or accessory are recorded in the commissioning sheet or Viessmann service logbook.

What is excluded from the guarantee?

Certain defects or damage are not covered by the Viessmann guarantee:

  • if the boiler has been removed or relocated from its original (i.e. first) place of installation without Viessmann's prior consent.
  • anything which is not a defect in the manufacture or original materials of the boiler or accessory
  • fair wear and tear
  • modifications to the boiler or accessory that are not authorised or agreed by Viessmann
  • any action or omission by you or any other person which causes the boiler or accessory to fail  or be damaged such as water pressure adjustments, carrying out adjustments to programmers not following operating instructions when switching on the boiler
  • failures or damage relating to airlocks, supply or damage of water, gas, oil, fuel line, etc
  • external influences, such as weather
  • damage caused by fire or explosion where that fire or explosion is not caused by a defect in the manufacture or original materials of that product or accessory
  • accidental damage, theft, attempted theft or malicious damage 
  • cosmetic damage such as damage to paintwork or dents
  • any costs which Viessmann have not agreed to pay prior to those costs being incurred including third-party costs
  • removal of fixtures or fittings required in order to gain access to carry out a repairs

Overview

Guarantee for stainless steel radial heat exchangers up to 150 kW

Viessmann offers a 10 year guarantee on stainless steel radial heat exchangers with an output of up to 150 kW. The guarantee only applies to leaks caused by corrosion.

The warranty is offered for boilers, subject to the following Terms and Conditions, if:

  • product is installed and configured by a Qualified Installer within 12 months of the date the relevant product or accessory was supplied to you in accordance with the relevant Viessmann installation instructions ; and
  • online registration of the product 
  •  product has an exhaust gas heat exchanger; and
  • during the Heat Exchanger Warranty Period, a defect in the manufacture or original materials occurs in the exhaust gas heat exchanger of that Product, 

Important note: Please note that you must register the product with us within 60 days of the first installation of the Product; (see product registration).

Product registration is required for the automatic guarantee extension (for certain components). To register, you need to enter the details of your system in our system and will then receive a system certificate. In addition to all important system data, this also contains the guarantee extension. For the registration process, you only need your serial number. You can register your Viessmann product yourself or ask your heating contractor to do it for you.

With your new Viessmann heating system, you can count on reliable, efficient operation and a lengthy service life. 

When you purchase and install the Vitodens 100-W, you receive a 2 year standard warranty on components, commencing on the date on which the new product or accessory was delivered to you.

In order to qualify for the guarantee, 

  • product is installed and configured by a Qualified Installer within 12 months of the date the relevant product or accessory was supplied to you in accordance with the relevant Viessmann installation instructions ; and
  •  installed, commissioned and maintained correctly in accordance with the appliance instructions;

 

You will receive an extended 5 year warranty for boiiler components when the boiler is connected to the internet. 

For connected boilers, the 5 year extended warranty is offered, subject to the following Terms and Conditions, if:

  • product is installed, connected, configured and commissioned by a qualified Viessmann installer in accordance with the relevant Viessmann installation instructions 
  • the product's servicing, inspection, maintenance are carried out by a Viessmann Installer at least once every 12 months commencing on the date on which the Product was delivered to you
  • all services performed on the Product are performed by a Viessmann Installed
  • product is registered online and connected to ViCare within 30 days of the first installation
  • product remains connected to ViCare continuously for the entire warranty period 
  • product is not removed and reinstalled after the Product is first connected to ViCare; and 
  • during the ViCare Warranty Period, a defect in the manufacture or original materials occurs in the Product

How to make a warranty claim

To make a warranty claim, you must, within 14 days of the occurrence of the relevant defect in the manufacture or original materials of the relevant product or accessory, contact us by email at service@viessmann.au and provide to us the following information:

  1. Model number of the product or accessory
  2.  Serial number of the product or accessory
  3. Description of the problem with the product or accessory
  4. Name, address and contact details (phone no and e-mail address) 
  5. Address where the product or accessory is installed and the location (e.g. at side of house)
  6. Date of purchase and the name of the seller of that product or accessory
  7. Date of installation of the product or accessory
  8. Certificate of compliance provided by the Qualified Installer when the product or accessory was installed
  9. Any other information we reasonably require to be provided to us in order to consider your claim
