Common features within the Vitodens product range
The gas condensing boilers offer an attractive solution on account of their good price/performance ratio and their compact design. By using the latest heating technology, they achieve a standard seasonal efficiency [to DIN] of up to 98 percent. Among other things, this is made possible by the Inox-Radial heat exchanger made from stainless steel. It is noted for its durability and high efficiency. We at Viessmann can vouch for it. Which is why all stainless steel heat exchangers come with a 10 year guarantee against leakage caused by corrosion. In order to benefit from this, all boilers purchased since 01/04/2018 should be registered within the first six months following commissioning. The guarantee likewise requires that a maintenance contract is in place, that maintenance work is carried out on a regular basis and that this work is documented in full.
Another common feature of Vitodens products is that they all operate at a low fan speed. This ensures very quiet operation and means that the Vitodens 300-W or Vitodens 200-W wall mounted boilers no longer have to be banished to the basement, but rather can also be installed in the bathroom, utility room or even in the kitchen cupboard as required.
Operating Vitodens products with different gas types –– Lambda Pro Control Plus
Common to all Viessmann Vitodens heating systems is the combustion controller for all gas types –– the Lambda Pro Control or the enhanced version, Lambda Pro Control Plus. This ensures consistently high efficiency even if gas quality fluctuates or there's a switch to a different gas type or a change in operating conditions. The Viessmann Vitodens condensing boiler continues to make maximum use of the energy available.
The air ratio (lambda) –– namely the ratio of gas and air –– is measured using an ionisation electrode. Depending on the results of the measurement, the automatic control then adjusts the air supply so that there is an ideal gas/air mixture at all times. This eliminates the need for adjustment or readjustment work during installation. This method of operation not only makes the Vitodens products very efficient, but the Lambda Pro Control Plus also ensures a high level of operational reliability. In addition, the flue gas inspection intervals are extended from two to three years.
Important: the Vitodens product range is suitable for use with a hydrogen/natural gas blend. A hydrogen content of up to 20 percent is permitted.
Special features
The Vitodens 200 series
The Vitodens models from the 200 series are cost effective condensing heating systems suitable for both low and high heat demands. The Vitodens 200-W is a gas condensing storage combi boiler that can even fit into a kitchen cupboard. The Vitodens 222-W is likewise a wall mounted gas condensing boiler which is additionally equipped with an integral loading cylinder for fast and flexible provision of DHW. However, Viessmann also offers floorstanding models: the Vitodens 222-F (with loading cylinder) and the Vitodens 242-F with the option of directly integrating a solar thermal system.
At the heart of the Vitodens 200 series is the MatriX-Plus burner which scores highly for its efficient operation and low pollutant and noise emissions. In addition, the Vitodens 200-W, 222-W, 222-F and 242-F are equipped with a 3.5 inch black/white screen with plain text and graphic display, plus an integral WiFi interface. This gives you the option of operating the heating system via the ViCare app.
The Vitodens 300 series
The Vitodens 300 models are available with outputs ranging from 11 to 32 kilowatts. They are particularly suitable for new buildings with low heating demands. One of the appliances in this series is the Viessmann Vitodens 300-W –– a compact wall mounted boiler that recently won the Design Plus Award and the iF Award. Its floorstanding counterpart is the Vitodens 333-F with integral 100 litre stainless steel loading cylinder. Completing the line-up is the Vitodens 343-F which additionally has a direct connection for a solar thermal system capable of providing not just a large proportion of the DHW heating but also central heating backup.
All models in this series are equipped with the MatriX-Plus burner. This allows a modulation range down to 1:17 with maximum flame stability. For example, the 32 kW boiler modulates down to an output of 1.9 kW. This allows the output to be optimally matched to the current demand without having to constantly restart the burner. Frequent cycling is reduced as a result. This not only ensures maximum efficiency and very low fuel consumption, but also reduces nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 40 percent. Moreover, the burner technology extends boiler runtimes, reduces loading on the other components and thus increases overall operational reliability.
Another stand-out feature of the Vitodens 300 product series is its exceptional user friendliness –– as demonstrated, for example, by the energy cockpit, which enables you to see all the consumption figures at a glance, by the integral WiFi interfaces for web access via ViCare and by the 7 inch colour touchscreen. This gives you the option of controlling the heating yourself via ViCare. However, you can also leave the monitoring in the hands of the heating contractor. They can then use Vitoguide to identify any maintenance requirements or even faults at an early stage. It even works remotely with tools. Once the boilers are hooked up, Viessmann's five year guarantee becomes valid.
